- Where can I park at the Lower Hutt Events Centre?
The Riddiford Garden carpark is adjacent to Lower Hutt Events Centre on Laings Road. It’s a public pay and display car park providing 40 spaces, fees: $6 a day or $1 an hour.
The Centre City Plaza car park is located 250 metres from the venue on Queens Drive and the large Riverbank car park is 800 metres from the centre, accessible from Daly Street.
There are many surrounding suburban street parks available and some are free all day or have 2-hour limits.
- What public transport options are available to get me to the Lower Hutt Events Centre?
From Wellington the Airport Flyer Bus service will deliver you to the Queensgate shopping mall, from there it’s a two minute walk to the centre. Regular train services operate between Wellington Central and Waterloo & Melling stations, and it is a short taxi fare or a 20-minute walk to the Events centre from either of the train stations. The Events Centre is a 22km journey from the Wellington International airport and is an approximate $80 taxi fare depending on your time of travel.
- Can I order a Taxi after the event?
Yes you can, we work with all Taxi and Shuttle companies and our team can assist with bookings. Uber is also available.
- Is the Town Hall next to the Lower Hutt Events Centre?
The Lower Hutt Events Centre and the Town Hall are located next to one another and situated in the Central City Precinct of Lower Hutt.
- Can we bring in our own food and beverage to the Lower Hutt Events Centre?
All food for events held at the Centre is provided by our catering team. We have a large range of catering options available to suit your event, theme or needs. No food can be bought into the venue.
- Can you please describe your accessibility access?
Lower Hutt Events Centre has floor level access at all entrances as well as automatic doors for easy entry.
Access into the Events Centre main auditorium, Town Hall, café and accessible toilets are all on the ground floor. There is lift access to the first floor meeting rooms as well as a lift to the stage of the Town Hall.
- What food and beverage facilities are available at the venue?
Lower Hutt Events Centre has Tutaki café on-site providing breakfast, lunch, cabinet food as well as coffee. Tutaki cafe is fully licensed.
For large events the centre has a commercial kitchen able to cater for up to 550 for a banquet dinner or 1200 for a cocktail event.
- How do I access the Event Space for pack in?
You can access the Event Space for pack in by going through the loading bay from the car park adjacent to the centre. Access is all at one level, you can even drive straight into the venue if you wish!
- Do you offer alternative dietary requirements?
We are very sensitive to all dietary requirements and are able to accomodate most requests highlighted in advance.
- Are you a licensed venue? Can we BYO alcohol?
Lower Hutt Events Centre is licensed until 1am. Beverages can be brought in from outside with prior approval from the Centre.
- What additional items does venue hire include?
Lower Hutt Events Centre provides a dedicated coordinator to assist in event planning, a floor supervisor on the day, tables and chairs, all standard associated set up and cleaning activities.
- Do you have WIFI?
Ys, free WIFI is available throughout the centre.
- What procedures do you have in place regarding COVID-19?
Lower Hutt Events Centre is taking all necessary precautions in our commitment to the voluntary New Zealand Events Sector COVID Code to make sure all our guests and staff are kept healthy and safe.
